strangers in the crowd

CityPeople1

We could have met,
When the northern wind caught my scarf
While walking on the street.
You would have grabbed it
And returned with a smile on your face.

We could have met,
When we bumped into each other,
While rushing through the city.
You might have silently apologized,
And invited me for a cup of coffee.

We could have met,
While we were waiting for a train
And our seats were accidentally alongside.
You might have had some sweets,
The ones I love the most.

We could have met,
However, we have failed,
As we had no free time.
Thus, now we’re only
Strangers in the crowd.
